Assessor / Listers Office

The Assessor/Listers Office provides and manages property assessment information. The Board of Listers is a three-member, elected board charged with the responsibility of determining the fair-market-value of real property in compliance with applicable Vermont State Statutes, and are duty bound to "... list the same without discrimination on a proportionate basis of such value for the grand list ..." 32 V.S.A. § 3431. The property values serve as the base upon which the Selectboard sets property tax rates.  The Listers also preside at scheduled Grievance Hearings held each year to hear appeals from property owners regarding the assessed value of their homes. The Assessor is hired or appointed by the Selectboard to provide professional expertise and coordinate the flow of assessment information.

The Board of Listers "Regular" meetings are held each month on the third Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Town Hall. An agenda will be posted 48 hours before the meeting. Only initial meeting minutes are posted. Final approved copies are available through the Listers' office.

Warnings for "Special"  and "Regular" meetings will be posted at the Randolph Town Clerk's Office, Kimball Public Library, Floyd's Store,  and here on the town's website (see links below).

Listers’ policy for access to public records: As per Title 1 V.S.A., Section 316, any person may inspect and/or copy any public Lister record during customary business hours.

The  As Billed Grand List abridged and sorted by span number is available on the Town website (see link below). It is for property ownership as of April 1, 2016.
