Special Meeting - Tuesday, May 16th, to vote on the revised FY24 Police District budget.
The Selectboard, at its April 13th meeting, warned a special meeting for Tuesday, May 16th, for residents of the Police District to vote on a revised budget for the district for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24; July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024). A public information meeting and hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, at 5:30 p.m. The information meeting and hearing will be in a "hybrid" format, with physical or remote attendance possible.
The budget re-vote will be by Australian ballot, and warned as required in statute. The Selectboard also voted to mail ballots to all registered voters in the Police District, in hope of facilitating greater turnout (only 23% of registered voters in the district participated in March). Ballots will be mailed by April 24th; the date of receipt may differ depending on mail delivery schedules.
