Trustees of Public Funds

The Trustees of Public Funds are elected officials, each serving a three (3) year term.  One Trustee is elected annually by Australian Ballot at Town Meeting.  The Trustees of Public Funds manage, invest and report on all real and personal property held in trust by the Town.  The trusts are for various purposes, and the income earned on the investments is expended for the particular purpose as specified by each donor.  They may also manage real property held in trust by the Town.  Among the funds managed by the Trustees of Public Funds are cemetery trust funds and other bequeaths which specify how the funds are to be used (i.e., scholarships, library, etc.) 17 V.S.A. § 2646(12); 24 V.S.A. § 2431 et seq.
